Just a few months after the publication of the European Data Protection Directive (officially Directive 95/46/EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data) the CLUSSIL (CLUb de la Sécurité de Systèmes d'Information - Luxembourg) was created by 13 IT Security Specialists:
Jean-Marc Buchet, Jean-Marie Déom, Francis Durigneux, Hans-Werner Eiden, Sandrine Gallouédec, Carlo Harpes, Anne Hendrick, Claude Lenert, Bruno Mamer, August Mordijck, Yves Reding, Stephen Purser, Marc Schintgen.
THANK YOU!
Mainly in French the CLUSSIL/SPIRAL events annually addressed key topcis and concerns of the national and international information security community. The last edition was about: "risk management methods in practice".
In 2001 a complete new board was assigned:
David HAGEN (President), Carlo HARPES (Vice-President), Eric DUBOIS (Secretary general), Yves DE PRIL (Treasurer), Denis WEDEUX, Alain CORNANT, Jean POUIT.
Further the bureau was supported by working group leaders: Christophe BIANCO, (GT-RSSI), Alexandre DULAUNOY (GT-Firewall) and Laurent MELLINGER. More details (in French) here: CA et bilan des activites du CLUSSIL.
The Master's diploma in "Information Systems Security Management" aims to train professionals in information security management. It was born out of a partnership between the CRP Henri Tudor (now LIST), CLUSSIL (now CLUSIL) and the University of Luxembourg.
Jeannot Krecké addressed a keynote at CLUSSIL's 10 years anniversary event on 9th May 2006. The minister highlighted the importance of confidence building and information security in an era of e-commerce and e-payment developments.
Since 2010, Jean GOETZINGER took over CLUSL's leadership with the objective to establish CLSUIL as a recognized actor among the Information Security Landscape of Luxemburg and of the “Grande Region”.
After the very successful CISO working group, it was decided to create an independent association to specifically address CISO aspects: CPSI which is the college of information security professionals, with the aim to: Promote the profession of chief information security officer (CISO) ; Recognize the people having CISO expertise ; Develop the competences needed by chief information security officers.
To adhere to current standards the name changed to CLUSIL: Club de la Sécurité de l'Information - Luxembourg.
